The extraordinary visual acuity of their eyes allows all eagles to spot and hunt their prey even from a great height. Their main prey are terrestrial vertebrates, primarily mammals. Only rarely do they feed on carrion. Eagles are very well adapted to use upwinds for flying. The eagle packs the prey from the flight with the catches while bumping down. Here are three of his toes forward, the hind claw pierces the loot body in a pincer movement. The prey is suffocated by the grip.
In the nest built of branches (eagle nest) the female usually lays two to three eggs. Often, however, only one of the boys is raised. All eagle species are protected, their stock is endangered by human influence.
