Freeride
A true freeride paradise - untouched deep snow guaranteed!
The area at Warth am Arlberg was named the snowiest ski resort in Europe by the Daily Mail in 2008 (11 metres annually).
Over 300 km of untouched snow throughout the St Anton ski area, many north-facing slopes guaranteeing deep, fluffy snow until May.
The first pioneers of skiing were to be found here in the 19th century, and the ski area is truly a historic home of freeride sports, where professionals like Alois Bickel and Martin "McFly" Winkler still train today.
At the ski school you can take a freeride fast course to master the terrain safely.
The 4-hour freeeride course takes place 2 times a week between December and April.
Experienced instructors teach you the rules and ski technique for safe freeriding.
Minimum number of participants: 4-6
Price per person: from € 80 including safety equipment (without ski pass) and an instruction on how to use the avalanche sensors.
In our SAAC (Snow&Avalanche Awareness Camps) safety camps in December and January you will learn how to behave off-piste.
The SAAC camp is a free two-day freeride safety and avalanche awareness course (open to ages 14+). The courses are led by certified guides.
On the first day of the course theoretical knowledge is taught, on the second day the guides go out on the slopes in small groups.
Emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe shovel) is provided free of charge.
